Meet the '2 Fellaz'
Why Bother?
With two men taking their own lives every minute, it's time to break the silence, have a laugh, and support each other through the ups and downs.
Let’s face it, men are shit at talking about their feelings. We’re pros at bottling things up, throwing on a brave face, and pretending everything’s fine even when it’s not.
Steve and Dave know this all too well from their own experiences with trauma and mental health battles. That’s why they started the 2 Fellaz podcastโto cut through the bullshit and get real about the stuff we all go through but rarely talk about.
Dave Sargent
PRIVATE CHEF / CO-HOST
Dave a private chef from Cornwall, renowned for his culinary expertise and deep passion for cooking. His journey hasn’t been without its challenges; at 19, Dave survived a traumatic house fire that left lasting psychological scars. This experience, coupled with other life-threatening incidents like severe car accidents, has profoundly shaped his outlook on life.
Through the 2 Fellaz podcast, Dave channels these experiences into raw, honest conversations about men’s mental health, aiming to create a space where others feel empowered to share their stories and seek support.
Outside the podcast, Dave enjoys experimenting with new recipes, exploring the Cornish countryside, and spending quality time with his family, finding solace in these simple pleasures.
Steve Brookes
MARKETING CEO / CO-HOST
Steve is the CEO of a marketing agency, bringing his storytelling prowess and business acumen to the 2 Fellaz podcast.
Steve’s life has been marked by significant trauma; he was sexually abused by his father from the age of six to ten, a harrowing experience that profoundly affected his upbringing. Despite disclosing the abuse and seeing his father convicted, Steve was abandoned by his family, forcing him to fend for himself from a young age. These experiences have fueled Steve’s commitment to addressing men’s mental health openly and honestly on the podcast.
His dynamic personality and sharp sense of humor ensure each episode is both engaging and thought-provoking. Outside the podcast, Steve is passionate about cheese (yes you read that right), running, and cherishing moments with his family, including his 3 children, Paige, Grace and Max.
